About Evergreen Landscaping

An owner-led East Yorkshire landscaping company — based in Gilberdyke, working across the region, and focused on quality from first site visit to final handover.

Who we are

Evergreen Landscaping Service Ltd is an East Yorkshire landscaping company run by Andy Price. We're based in Gilberdyke — a village between Brough and Howden on the south bank of the Humber — and we work across a wide area of the East Riding, from Hull and Hessle in the south to Beverley and Driffield in the north, and from Bridlington on the coast to Goole and Snaith in the west.

Evergreen Landscaping is a registered limited company (Companies House No. 17154075). We take on garden landscaping projects of all sizes: a single patio, a driveway, a fencing job, or a complete garden redesign and rebuild from the ground up. The work is owner-led — Andy is personally involved in every project, not a background figure who shows up for the initial pitch.

What we do

We cover the full range of hard landscaping and garden improvement work: natural stone and porcelain paving, block paving, timber and composite decking, fencing and gates, turf and artificial grass, raised beds and garden walls, retaining walls and steps, garden buildings and summerhouses, and insulated garden rooms. We also take on full garden design projects where clients want the whole garden replanned and rebuilt.

Having that range of capability under one contractor matters. A garden project where the paving, the fencing, and the lawn are all handled by different trades always involves coordination problems and differences in standard. When everything is designed and built together by the same team, the result is more cohesive and the process is simpler for the client.

How we work

Every project starts with a free site visit. Andy comes to your garden, looks at what's there, listens to what you want to achieve, and discusses the options — materials, layout, phasing if the project is large. There's no rush, no pressure, and no sales pitch. At the end of the visit, you receive a clear written quote.

Once work starts, Andy keeps clients informed at every stage. If anything comes up during the project — a ground condition that affects the specification, a decision that needs to be made — that conversation happens before any action is taken. Clients describe the communication as one of the things that distinguishes working with Evergreen Landscaping from other contractors.

We leave every site clean and tidy on completion, remove all waste, and walk through the finished work with the client before we leave.

Our approach to East Yorkshire's gardens

East Yorkshire's ground conditions vary considerably across the region. Much of the Vale of York fringe around Howden, Goole, and Gilberdyke is heavy clay — expansive, slow-draining, and challenging for both hard landscaping and growing. The Wolds chalk drains far better than the Vale clay. Gardens near the Humber Estuary face exposure and moisture that inland gardens don't see. Bridlington's coastal position brings salt-laden wind that affects both plant survival and material durability.

Understanding these local conditions is part of what makes the difference between landscaping that performs well over time and landscaping that looks good on completion and deteriorates in three winters. Sub-base specification, drainage detail, timber treatment, and fence-post depths aren't the glamorous part of the job, but they're what makes the work last.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

We're experienced in working with properties where materials and methods need to meet specific requirements. One of our completed projects involved an exterior staircase at a Grade 2 listed building, using traditional materials to satisfy the listing. If your property is listed, in a conservation area, or has other planning considerations, that's useful information to share when you contact us.

What we stand for

Quality workmanship

We take the work seriously — the preparation, the materials, the detail. The photos in our gallery are real projects, and the standard they show is the standard we aim for on every job.

Honest communication

If something comes up during a project, you hear about it immediately. If a job isn't right for us, we'll tell you rather than take it on and deliver mediocre results. Straightforward is better for everyone.

Genuine local knowledge

We're based here and we work here. Andy knows the ground conditions, the planning context, and the properties across East Yorkshire — not as a generality, but from working in these specific towns and villages.

Owner involvement

Andy doesn't just quote the job and pass it to a team. He's hands-on with the work and responsible for the standard it's delivered to. When you call Evergreen Landscaping, you speak to the person who will do the work.
